Former Watford striker Troy Deeney shared a bold opinion after Liverpool clinched the Premier League title.

Deeney, now a coach and media pundit, reacted to Liverpool’s dominant 5-1 win over Tottenham at Anfield, which secured Arne Slot’s first league title in charge. He praised key players like Salah, Alexander-Arnold, and Van Dijk but believes the squad can be taken to an even higher level.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Deeney claimed that if Liverpool were to sign Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, the Premier League would be theirs for the next five years. Isak, 25, has had a standout season, scoring 22 goals in 31 appearances and drawing attention from top clubs. The Swedish striker is tied to Newcastle until 2028, and any move would likely cost over £150 million.

Deeney also suggested Liverpool need reinforcements in three positions: a new left-back to eventually succeed Robertson, another central defender to provide depth, and an additional midfielder in case injuries hit the current trio.

When asked about his own future, Isak told Swedish media he’s fully focused on Newcastle, loves the club, and isn’t thinking about a

move.
