Arsenal Eye €100M Rodrygo Transfer Amid Real Madrid’s Summer Overhaul

Gunners must fend off Liverpool, Man City in high-stakes race for Brazilian star.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has intensified, but landing the 23-year-old will cost a whopping €100 million (£86M), according to reports from Relevo. With Madrid preparing for a major summer shake-up, the Gunners see this as a window of opportunity—but the road ahead is complex.

Mikel Arteta has reportedly greenlit the approach as Arsenal look to add firepower for the 2025/26 campaign. But they’ll face fierce competition: Liverpool and Manchester City are also circling, raising the stakes for the Brazil international who has impressed in La Liga and the Champions League.

Despite having three years left on his contract, Madrid are said to be open to a sale. Behind the scenes, they’ve already identified a potential replacement in PSG wonderkid Désiré Doué, who has been electric this season with 13 goals and 11 assists in 49 appearances.

Meanwhile, Real’s summer revamp is expected to be spearheaded by incoming manager Xabi Alonso, with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to join as a free agent when his Liverpool contract expires in July.

Also on Madrid’s radar:

Dean Huijsen & Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth)

Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting CP)

Nico Paz (Como, ex-Madrid youth)

If Arsenal are to secure Rodrygo’s signature, they must act swiftly and decisively, matching Madrid’s price tag and convincing the player of their project.
