A shock new club has entered the race to sign Victor Osimhen this summer after reportedly submitting a bid.
The Napoli striker has long been rumored to move away from the Italian club, with several Premier League teams expressing interest in recent seasons.
Currently, the Nigerian forward is being linked to transfers to Arsenal or Chelsea, especially since Chelsea has reportedly arranged for Romelu Lukaku to join Napoli.
However, a new report indicates that another team has joined the pursuit of Osimhen. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reveals that Napoli has received an initial offer from Saudi club Al Ahli this summer. The bid exceeds €65 million, with only minor details left to finalize between the two clubs.
Despite this, no agreement has been reached between Al Ahli and Osimhen himself. He is reportedly considering various options and will only move to the Saudi club if offered a substantial salary and a release clause in his contract.
Arsenal is also interested in signing Osimhen this summer, as they prioritize acquiring a striker before the transfer window closes. Meanwhile, Chelsea is exploring multiple options, including Osimhen, even though they have already signed eight players this summer, such as Portuguese forward Joao Felix.
Osimhen’s impressive record—76 goals and 18 assists in 133 appearances for Napoli—explains the strong interest in him.
Osimhen is not the only striker that Al Ahli is targeting this summer. The Saudi club has also shown interest in Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
Reports indicate that Al Ahli has begun discussions with Toney, though the negotiations are still in the preliminary phase. Toney is reportedly seeking a salary of €20 million (£17 million).
Additionally, Toney was excluded from the Brentford squad for the second time this season last weekend, which might increase the likelihood of his departure from the club.
