Barcelona president Joan Laporta is planning a stunning surprise for Hansi Flick by signing the “deal of the century” in the upcoming transfer window!

Barcelona clinched their 28th La Liga title with a 2-0 victory over local rivals Espanyol.

This win takes Barcelona’s points tally to 85, placing them firmly at the top of the league table—seven points clear of second-place Real Madrid, who sit on 78. With just two fixtures left in the season, no other team can mathematically surpass them.

Meanwhile, according to El Nacional, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is setting the stage for a major future signing, with Alexander Isak emerging as a key target. Laporta reportedly views the Swedish striker as the ideal long-term successor in the number 9 role and is committed to bringing him to the Camp Nou.

Isak’s style of play, adaptability, and consistent goal-scoring have impressed the Barcelona hierarchy. Laporta has already informed sporting director Deco of his desire to pursue the striker, even if it means waiting a few years.

Although signing Isak this summer appears unrealistic due to financial constraints and Newcastle’s reluctance to sell, Laporta has outlined a strategic plan aiming for 2026. By that time, the club expects improved financial health and anticipates Robert Lewandowski’s departure, which would open space both in the lineup and the wage bill.

Laporta sees Isak as a transformative player who fits the club’s vision for the future—a versatile, young forward with proven quality in the Premier League. Deco has been tasked with monitoring the situation closely and laying the groundwork for a future move.

Given Newcastle’s strong financial position, any potential deal would depend on improved circumstances down the line. For now, Barcelona is focusing on preparing for the right moment to strike.
