While the former Fiorentina winger isn’t flawless, the idea that he wouldn’t be able to enhance our forward line as a backup might be off the mark.
In three of the last five Serie A seasons, the 26-year-old has played over 30 games out of 38 (excluding other competitions).
It’s true that the Premier League is more intense than Serie A. However, Arne Slot’s more energy-efficient style of play and the potential advantages of our lead physical performance coach, Ruben Peeters, could mitigate this difference.
Is it still a risk? Possibly, but it could be worth taking if we’re not relying solely on Chiesa.
