Liverpool achieve incredible never-before-done record as Arne Slot makes more history vs Brighton

Liverpool set a new club record against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex on Monday (May 19).

For Monday’s league trip to Brighton, Arne Slot rested stars like Van Dijk, Alexander‑Arnold, Robertson and Díaz, turning instead to squad players Quansah, Tsimikas, Bradley, Elliott and Chiesa.

The makeshift side rewarded him early: nine minutes in, Conor Bradley cut the ball back and Harvey Elliott tucked it away, prompting jubilant celebrations from the travelling Kop.

Elliott’s strike also saw the 22‑year‑old set a brand‑new club record—the first time any Liverpool player has achieved the feat.

Harvey Elliott’s strike ensured Liverpool have found the net in every one of their 19 Premier League trips this term—a streak no previous Reds side has managed.

Across English football, that “score‑in‑every‑away‑game” milestone has been reached only nine times, and just four in seasons featuring a 20‑team top flight.

Back in 2001/02 both Arsenal and Manchester United did it, while Arsenal’s 1930/31 champions scored in all 21 of their road fixtures.

Supporters flooded social media with praise. One wrote, “Amazing record. With only one home date left, score there and we’ve basically scored everywhere!” Another declared, “Champions for a reason,” while a third pointed out “We’ve done it at Anfield almost every week too.”

Manager Arne Slot said the away form “means a lot” in his press conference: “Early on I told the players we had to improve on the road if we wanted to fight for the title. All season we’ve been strong away and solid at home as well—both are essential in such a competitive league.”

Slot has already made history as the first Dutch coach to win the Premier League.

Liverpool now look ahead to their finale against Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday, 25 May, when captain Virgil van Dijk will hoist the trophy. A city‑wide parade follows the next day, with hundreds of thousands expected to celebrate.
