Barça stars are pressuring Laporta to sign the “legendary player” who could help Barcelona win the Champions League!

Barcelona Stars Push for Viktor Gyökeres Signing as Transfer Clock Ticks

As Barcelona reflects on a season crowned with La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup glory, attention has already turned to next season’s ambitions—chief among them, a return to Champions League dominance. And in the dressing room, one name is sparking unanimous excitement: Viktor Gyökeres.

According to El Nacional, the Sporting CP striker is being heavily championed by Barcelona players, who see the Swedish international as the “missing piece” in their European quest. Gyökeres, 25, has emerged as one of Europe’s elite forwards, dominating the Portuguese league with a prolific goal tally and finishing high in the European Golden Shoe rankings.

With a €65 million price tag, Gyökeres presents a relatively affordable option for a forward of his caliber, but even that may be out of reach for the financially constrained Blaugrana—unless player sales materialize. Despite his appeal, striker is not a top priority for the club this summer, with goalkeeper and right-back seen as more urgent areas to reinforce.

Coach Hansi Flick is reportedly intrigued by Gyökeres, but with Robert Lewandowski still leading the line and Vitor Roque and Marc Guiu waiting in the wings, the club is cautious about investing heavily in that position.

However, the situation is pressing. Arsenal, PSG, and Atlético Madrid have all made contact with Gyökeres’ camp, and any concrete offer from them could price Barcelona out or force a hasty decision. Internal support for the striker remains strong, and if a major sale occurs—like that of Fermin López or Raphinha—the funds could quickly be reallocated to secure the Sporting star.

Laporta and Deco now face a defining choice: act boldly to land one of Europe’s most complete forwards, or risk watching him light up the Champions League in another shirt.
