Liverpool fans are convinced Trent Alexander-Arnold has responded after being publicly called out by Arne Slot over training attitude

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has again been targeted by a section of fans after a post on social media.

Trent Alexander-Arnold shared two photos showcasing his new custom adidas Predator boots ahead of what will be his final match in a Liverpool jersey.

Following Sunday’s game against Crystal Palace, the Reds will celebrate their Premier League title win at Anfield, bringing an end to Alexander-Arnold’s storied run with the club where he’s won both the Premier League and Champions League.

The boots are personalized to highlight the span of his Liverpool journey — from 2005 to 2025 — and were paired with a brief message that some fans have interpreted as a veiled response to manager Arne Slot. Slot recently cast doubt on the right-back’s commitment during his last season at the club.

“20 years. Gave it everything,” Alexander-Arnold wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

His statement was supported by former manager Jürgen Klopp, who defended him in light of recent fan criticism.

“I saw him every single day — this boy gave everything for the badge,” Klopp said, addressing boos directed at the 26-year-old.

Despite Klopp’s backing, Alexander-Arnold’s standing with some fans has taken a hit. His farewell post drew backlash online, especially from supporters on social media.

“Everything?? That’s not what the coach said,” one fan wrote on X.

Another added, “That’s why Slot had to beg you to defend,” complete with a rat emoji.

“Slot said you didn’t put the effort in during training, though lad?” wrote an anonymous account featuring a Mo Salah profile picture.

Another commenter took a jab, saying, “Liverpool’s midfield will be relieved — no more covering for you in defense,” with their spelling betraying a possible distance from Merseyside.

“Your final game for your boyhood club and you’re using it to advertise Adidas boots? Embarrassing,” another fan remarked.

One post read, “We might not always agree with Klopp, but we still love him. You’ll always walk alone!” — a twist on the club’s famous motto.

The reactions to Alexander-Arnold’s post reflected a clear sentiment from many Liverpool fans online, marking a bitter end to what had once been a celebrated, 20-year journey with the club.
