Sheikh Jassim Rules Out Future Manchester United Takeover Amid Club Crisis

Sheikh Jassim has confirmed he will not pursue a new bid to buy Manchester United, two years after losing out to Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Despite offering £4.5 billion in 2023, he was sidelined in favor of Ratcliffe’s £1.25 billion minority stake deal with INEOS.

Now, after a disastrous 2024/25 season — with United finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final — fans are beginning to regret the failed Qatari takeover. However, the Daily Mail reports that Sheikh Jassim was disillusioned by dealings with the Glazers and has no plans to re-enter the race, even as the club’s share value drops 17%.

INEOS and Ratcliffe, despite backlash from supporters over frugal spending and underwhelming results, have no intentions of selling and are pressing ahead with long-term plans, including a new stadium project.

United’s decline continues, and Sheikh Jassim is officially out of the pic
