Tebas Reacts to Xabi Alonso’s Likely Appointment at Real Madrid: “It Seems Very Good to Me”

Tebas Backs Xabi Alonso’s Expected Appointment at Real Madrid: “I Think It’s a Great Decision”

With Carlo Ancelotti now confirmed as Brazil’s new head coach, Real Madrid is on the verge of a managerial shift, likely handing the reins to former midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Following a season in which the club failed to secure any of the three major trophies and struggled in key matches, including El Clasico, the need for a new direction has become apparent. These challenges have paved the way for Alonso’s potential return to Madrid in a leadership role.

Tebas Welcomes Alonso’s Return

La Liga president Javier Tebas voiced his approval of the likely appointment, emphasizing his support for Alonso’s return to Spanish football.

“Real Madrid sees Xabi Alonso as their ideal choice, and I’m pleased for him,” Tebas said. “It’s good to have him back in Spanish football and at a top club—his club.”

He continued, “I believe it’s a very good decision. Ultimately, it’s up to the club, and I respect their judgment.”

Tebas also acknowledged Alonso’s recent success, stating, “Winning the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, ahead of Bayern Munich, is an impressive achievement.”

Alonso is expected to officially take charge early next month, just in time for Real Madrid’s preparations for the FIFA Club World Cup. The club has already begun working on signings that align with his vision to ensure a strong start to his tenure.
