Arsenal are considering making a last-minute move for a world-class player this summer.
This summer, Arsenal has been active in the transfer market as they aim to strengthen their squad and challenge Manchester City in the Premier League.
Their key acquisitions so far include defender Riccardo Calafiori from Serie A’s Bologna and Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad, who joined recently.
Recent reports indicate that Arsenal might be targeting another high-profile player before the transfer window closes on Friday. According to Mail Sport, Arsenal is considering an offer for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.
Mikel Arteta is interested in adding another wide forward to enhance competition with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard. This move could be significant for Arsenal.
However, a major obstacle could be the financial implications of such a deal. Coman, who earns £300,000 per week at Bayern Munich, would become Arsenal’s highest-paid player if they matched his salary. Additionally, with three years remaining on his contract, Bayern might demand a substantial transfer fee for a permanent move.
Alternatively, some reports suggest that Arsenal might explore a loan deal for Coman, which would alleviate some of the financial strain. Last season, Coman made 27 appearances for Bayern Munich, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
Since joining Bayern Munich from Juventus in 2017, Kingsley Coman has made 294 appearances, scoring 63 goals and providing 66 assists.
He is also drawing interest from the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Hilal being the most likely Saudi club to sign him.
Coman has been rumored to be a target for Liverpool as well, but the Merseyside club seems poised to secure Juventus winger Federico Chiesa instead.
After a successful two-season loan from Juventus, Coman signed a permanent deal with Bayern, with the total fee for both the loan and transfer reportedly amounting to €28 million.
