Rayan Cherki is set to join Manchester City, turning down interest from Liverpool and several other top clubs. The 21-year-old French attacking midfielder had drawn attention after an impressive season with Lyon, scoring 12 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions.

Despite Liverpool manager Arne Slot reportedly cutting his holiday short to meet with Cherki personally, the Ligue 1 star has opted for City, according to reliable journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Cherki will sign a deal until 2030, with the transfer fee expected to be between £29 million and £34 million. He’s expected to join the squad ahead of Manchester City’s campaign in the Club World Cup in the United States later this month.
