Marca Chief Hints Rodrygo Could Be on His Way Out, Clears Up Guardiola Rumours

Uncertainty over Rodrygo’s future at Real Madrid is mounting, especially after well-regarded journalist José Félix Díaz from Marca offered his thoughts.

Speaking on Rubén Martín’s Twitch channel, Díaz suggested the Brazilian forward’s time at Madrid might soon be up.
“I don’t believe Rodrygo will stay,” he said bluntly, underlining the growing doubts around the club. The player’s absence in the Club World Cup tie against Pachuca — despite Kylian Mbappé being unavailable — has only added to the speculation.

Rodrygo spent the whole game on the bench, as youngsters like Arda Güler, Brahim Díaz, Gonzalo García, and Víctor Muñoz all got minutes.

Still, Díaz did call for perspective, pointing to the extreme heat in Miami and the condensed fixture list as potential reasons for rotation.
“Ceballos didn’t feature at all in the first game and then played 20 minutes in the next. It’s part of the rotation,” he noted.

No Calls From Guardiola, No Formal Offers Yet
Although there have been rumours of Manchester City’s interest, Díaz was quick to quash them — for now.
“To my knowledge, Guardiola hasn’t contacted Rodrygo this year,” he confirmed. Arsenal have also been linked, but Díaz stressed that nothing concrete had materialised.
“There’s been more talk about Arsenal than City, but I’m not aware of any official move,” he added.

And while Real Madrid haven’t received an offer, the possibility of a sale remains on the table.
“It’s not that the case has been reopened — it was never closed,” Díaz explained, implying the club would listen if a substantial bid arrived.

Mastantuono Could Shift the Balance
Díaz also highlighted that Franco Mastantuono’s arrival could hasten Rodrygo’s exit. The Argentine prospect, set to join after the World Cup, is held in high regard at Madrid.
“He’s a locomotive,” Díaz enthused. “His drive, his style — he brings something different. He’ll definitely shake things up.”

With Mastantuono poised to take on a key role in a rejuvenated squad, Rodrygo’s position looks increasingly vulnerable.
For now, Rodrygo is still a Madrid player — but all signs suggest he could be one of the big names heading for the Bernabéu exit this summer if a suitable offer is made.
