Arne Slot is prepared to spend big once more following the Wirtz deal, as he sets his sights on signing an England superstar.

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a summer move for Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are eager to make another big-money signing after already agreeing a record £100 million deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz.

Despite this significant outlay, Liverpool are still ready to splash out again on Gordon.

Not Their First Interest

The Merseyside club tried to sign the 24-year-old last summer and still view him as a top target. Negotiations took place back then, and they’re now looking to reignite those talks.

On a personal level, convincing Gordon to join might not be too difficult — after all, he grew up supporting Liverpool. However, Newcastle may not be so easily persuaded to sell one of their most important players.

With Luis Díaz’s future at Anfield uncertain and Barcelona reportedly showing interest, Gordon is seen as a potential successor.

While Díaz is happy at Liverpool, serious interest from Barça could test the club’s resolve. If they do decide to sell the Colombian, Liverpool may move quickly to land Gordon.

The Newcastle winger has already proven himself in the Premier League and demonstrated that he can thrive at the top level. His pace, creativity, and goal-scoring ability would make him a strong addition to Liverpool’s attack.

That said, Newcastle qualifying for the Champions League means they will be determined to hold on to one of their brightest talents. Liverpool will have to work hard if they want to convince the Magpies to let him go.
