Liverpool fans have taken to social media after seeing Darwin Núñez’s striking new look — and it’s fueling calls for him to stay at Anfield.
With the summer transfer window in full swing, the Premier League champions have been busy revamping their squad. Having already completed deals for Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and with Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez close to joining, attention has now shifted toward offloading players to make room for further reinforcements.
Defender Jarell Quansah is on the verge of a move to Leverkusen, while Núñez, Harvey Elliott, and Andy Robertson have all been linked with summer exits.
But Núñez — previously known for his trademark long hair — grabbed fans’ attention with a dramatic style change. The Uruguayan striker showed off his freshly shaved head in a picture alongside his girlfriend, Lorena Manas.
And the fans absolutely loved it.
One supporter wrote on X: “Suddenly I want him to stay.”
Another posted: “If we sell him now, it’s a big mistake.”
A third fan added: “He needs to stay more than ever.”
And one commenter humorously said: “Keep him now for sure — no more fixing his hair every 2 minutes… worked with Trent and his dreads.”
Others joined in with optimism: “He will start scoring now lol,” and “Wait, keep him — he might ball out.”
Despite the excitement around Núñez’s new look, his future at Anfield is anything but certain. The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away all summer, with Serie A giants Napoli reportedly front-runners for his signature. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano:
“Understand Napoli and Liverpool will have direct contacts today to discuss conditions of Darwin Núñez’s deal. Negotiations still at early stages, but Napoli had green light from Núñez as revealed in the recent days… and the deal depends on financial requests now.”
With the transfer saga set to continue, Liverpool supporters will be hoping their freshly shaven star stays put — and rediscovers his best form in the famous shirt
