Liverpool have completed their second signing of the summer shortly after the transfer deadline closed.
Arne Slot recently welcomed Italian Federico Chiesa as Liverpool strengthened their squad. However, with some fans feeling more additions were needed, Liverpool quickly moved to sign another player. According to the Liverpool Echo, the club has acquired 16-year-old Alvin Ayman from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ayman, who started his career at Bradford City before moving to Molineux, impressed Liverpool enough for them to spend £2 million on him. Although the club has yet to officially announce the transfer, Ayman confirmed the move to Anfield on Instagram. He shared a photo of himself signing the contract with the caption: “New beginnings Liverpool FC. I want to extend a huge thank you to all the staff at Wolves for helping me grow over the past 2 years. God is good.”
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Alvin Ayman has signed a five-year contract with Liverpool, though the full details of the transfer are still to be confirmed.
Liverpool, under new manager Arne Slot, have won both of their matches so far and will face Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow.
Ahead of the game, Slot acknowledged the challenge, saying, “I haven’t experienced this game myself, but the players have been through it many times. We need to prepare them not just tactically but also to handle the atmosphere and play in the best way possible, so the crowd doesn’t get too riled up.”
Drawing from his experience at Ipswich, Slot anticipates a heightened atmosphere and recognizes that United have consistently risen to the occasion during crucial moments.
