Liverpool finalize deal with player eyed by Inter Milan as Arne Slot works to complete next transfer signing.

Liverpool are actively continuing their transfer business as they ramp up preparations for the 2025–26 season. With pre-season training about to start for most Premier League sides, the Reds remain focused on bolstering Arne Slot’s squad.

Following their Premier League title triumph in May, Liverpool are set to resume training on July 8 at the AXA Training Centre. While most players will report back, Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton will join the group later due to their involvement in England’s Under-21 Euros win. Both are also being considered for possible summer departures.

New signings Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez are expected to begin training with the team next week. Despite these additions, Liverpool continue working behind the scenes to reinforce their squad, particularly in attack and defense.

Jarell Quansah is preparing to move to Bayer Leverkusen in a £35 million transfer to gain more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup. In response, Liverpool have identified Marc Guehi as a top defensive target.

According to DaveOCKOP.com, Liverpool have reached an agreement on personal terms with Guehi, including salary and contract length. The next step is to strike a deal with Crystal Palace, who are open to selling since Guehi’s contract is in its final year.

Although Palace value the defender at £70 million, they are reportedly willing to negotiate for around £40 million to avoid losing him for free next summer. Guehi played a key role in their FA Cup win last season and is a current England international.

Liverpool’s agreement on personal terms marks significant progress, especially with competition from Tottenham, Newcastle, and Inter Milan. Previous offers from Spurs and Newcastle have already been turned down.

Guehi could choose to see out his contract at Palace for consistent game time before the 2026 World Cup. However, if he makes the move to Liverpool, he’ll aim to become a regular under Arne Slot, particularly with Ibrahima Konaté declining a new deal and Virgil van Dijk only extending for two more years.
