Barcelona Back Under 1:1 Financial Rule, Tebas Confirms to Laporta
Barcelona has officially returned to La Liga’s 1:1 financial rule, marking a major step forward in the club’s ongoing financial recovery. La Liga president Javier Tebas has reportedly confirmed the news directly to club president Joan Laporta.
The return to the 1:1 rule means Barça can now spend €1 on player signings or wages for every €1 they generate in savings or revenue — a significant improvement over the previous restrictions, which operated under a more limiting 1:4 or 1:3 ratio.
This development gives Barcelona greater flexibility in the transfer market, potentially clearing the path for new signings and player registrations without needing to offload major assets first.
It also reflects growing confidence in the club’s financial management, after years of salary cap struggles and emergency economic levers used to keep the squad competitive.
With this financial green light, Barcelona is expected to act more decisively in the transfer window — possibly accelerating moves for top targets like Nico Williams and Marcus Rashford.
