What Araujo future says

🚨 Juventus have made Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo their top transfer target for the summer, aiming to capitalize on his reduced role at the club, according to SPORT.

The Italian club, led by manager Igor Tudor, is prepared to offer €25-30 million for the 25-year-old Uruguayan defender, whose release clause drops to €70 million for the first ten days of July, down from €1 billion after his contract renewal until 2031.

Araujo, once a guaranteed starter, has been overtaken by Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez under Hansi Flick, with errors in a Champions League loss to Inter Milan raising doubts about his future.

Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has confirmed an excess of centre-backs, and selling Araujo could help fund the registration of new signings like Nico Williams by easing Financial Fair Play constraints.

Juventus’ interest follows a near-deal in January, but Barcelona rejected their initial offer, insisting on a €70 million fee.

While Araujo prefers to stay, the club’s financial needs and his diminished role could lead to a transfer if a strong offer arrives when the window opens on July 1.
