Barcelona or no one… Europe’s magician sends a decisive message to Laporta!

Barcelona Shifts Focus to Rafael Leão After Nico Williams Setback

Following the unsuccessful pursuit of Nico Williams, Barcelona is actively exploring new options to reinforce its attack. The club is in search of a forward who can bring both power and efficiency to the front line, despite operating under financial strain and growing expectations for the upcoming season.

One name increasingly gaining traction is Rafael Leão. The AC Milan star has reportedly communicated his openness to a move, indicating he’s willing to wait throughout the summer if Barcelona decides to submit a formal offer.

Leão is admired at Camp Nou for both his technical talent and professional demeanor. Although he remains a central figure at Milan and feels appreciated there, he’s ready to make a push for a transfer—particularly if Barcelona makes a serious move in August.

Milan’s valuation of the Portuguese forward is around €80 million, which could be problematic for Barcelona given current financial limitations. However, club president Joan Laporta is optimistic that the fee could be negotiated down to around €60 million, depending on outgoing transfers and compliance with Financial Fair Play.

Leão is not looking to force a move or cause disruption at Milan. Still, his sincere interest in joining Barcelona—especially if backed by head coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco—is considered a major factor in potential negotiations.

His willingness to join the club has been well received internally, with several Barça players reportedly viewing him as a perfect stylistic and personal fit. Leão’s strength, finishing ability, and attacking instincts are seen as attributes that would greatly benefit the squad.

Barcelona is also tracking other targets, including Luis Díaz, though that potential deal is being complicated by financial hurdles. If those negotiations fall through, interest in Leão is likely to increase significantly.

Leão remains calm and focused, in no rush to leave Milan but ready to act decisively if Barcelona gives him the signal. Now, the ball is in the court of Laporta and Deco, who must decide whether to make a move for a player clearly eager to wear the Blaugrana shirt.
