On Wednesday, Barcelona officially announced Lamine Yamal’s new long-term contract, introducing him as the club’s new number 10.
That same day, thousands of fans flocked to Barcelona stores to purchase Yamal’s jersey, with many hoping for a chance to see him in person as he helped print the shirts.
According to Culemania via Diario Sport, Barcelona sold at least 70,000 Lamine Yamal number 10 shirts on Wednesday alone.
Based on those figures, the club earned an estimated €9 to €10.5 million in just one day, with each jersey costing between €120 and €150—prices varying depending on whether they’re bought from Nike outlets or official Barcelona stores.
Last season, Barcelona generated around €150 million from shirt sales, but with Lamine Yamal now donning the iconic number 10, the club anticipates surpassing that figure this year.
Following the announcement, Lamine shared the clear message he received from manager Hansi Flick upon being handed the legendary shirt.
