Real Madrid ‘propose’ stunning swap deal to sign Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool THIS summer

Ibrahima Konaté Linked with Real Madrid Amid Uncertain Liverpool Future

Ibrahima Konaté could be on his way out of Anfield, with Real Madrid reportedly eyeing a move for the Liverpool defender this summer.

Since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2021, the 26-year-old Frenchman has become a key figure in Liverpool’s defense, racking up 132 appearances and forming a strong partnership with Virgil van Dijk. However, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season, and extension talks reportedly stalling, Konaté’s future is now in doubt.

Real Madrid are said to be monitoring the situation closely, potentially targeting Konaté as a free agent — a strategy they recently employed to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold. Liverpool, however, are reluctant to lose another star without a fee.

To avoid a repeat of the Alexander-Arnold saga, Madrid are reportedly considering a swap deal to secure Konaté’s signature this summer. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Spanish giants are prepared to offer €10 million plus attacking midfielder Brahim Díaz in exchange for the centre-back.

Madrid are reportedly attracted to Konaté’s strength, defensive awareness, and experience in big matches — qualities that make him a natural fit for their backline.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are already exploring potential replacements. The club has been linked with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guéhi, as well as young defenders Jorrel Hato and Levi Colwill. In addition, the Reds are nearing a major move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, with the fee rumored to be as high as €95 million.
