Luis Diaz ‘determined’ to leave Liverpool as Bayern Munich launch second transfer bid

Luis Díaz Eyes Bayern Move After Rejected Liverpool Bid

Luis Díaz is hoping Bayern Munich returns with a second offer that convinces Liverpool to sell, having informed the club of his desire to leave during the summer transfer window.

Bayern’s initial £58.6 million bid was swiftly rejected by Liverpool, who view the Colombian winger as a key asset. Still, the Bundesliga giants are preparing a new offer, reported to be worth around £60 million plus add-ons, as they aim to replace Leroy Sané, who recently joined Galatasaray.

Díaz was instrumental in Liverpool’s Premier League-winning campaign last season under Arne Slot, scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists in 50 appearances. Despite having two years remaining on his contract, the 28-year-old is reportedly frustrated over a lack of a new deal, especially after new contracts were handed to Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool, however, have made it clear that renewing Díaz’s contract isn’t a current priority. With no progress on that front, Díaz has told the club he wants to move on.

Though he’s currently with the squad on their pre-season tour of Hong Kong and Japan—where they’re set to face AC Milan and Yokohama F. Marinos—his inclusion does not necessarily signal a long-term stay.

Bayern remain persistent in their pursuit, and the transfer saga looks set to continue.
