Arsenal are lining up a stunning bid for a Premier League star once the deal for Viktor Gyokeres is complet
Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP, following weeks of transfer speculation.
The Gunners have reached a total agreement with the Portuguese side, agreeing to an initial fee of £54 million, with an additional £8.7 million in performance-related bonuses.
Gyökeres is scheduled to have his medical examination with Arsenal on Saturday, after which he is expected to sign a five-year contract.
The 27-year-old forward, who netted an impressive 54 goals in all competitions last season, has already chosen his preferred shirt number.
Once the deal is finalized, Gyökeres will become Arsenal’s sixth signing of the summer, joining the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Nørgaard, Martín Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, and Cristhian Mosquera.
Arsenal are expected to stay active in the transfer market as they prepare for the upcoming season.
According to The Independent, the club is now focused on securing a deal for Eberechi Eze following the near-finalization of Viktor Gyökeres’ move.
With the Swedish striker set to sign shortly, Arsenal are shifting attention to their next target—and Eze is reportedly at the top of Mikel Arteta’s priority list. Sources close to the player are optimistic that a deal could be finalized within the next few weeks.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has been a standout performer for Crystal Palace since arriving from QPR in 2020 for £17 million. He has racked up 166 appearances for the Eagles across all competitions and earned 11 caps for England after debuting in 2023
Arsenal are aiming to negotiate a fee closer to £60 million for Eberechi Eze, rather than paying his full £68 million release clause.
While no official talks have taken place yet between Arsenal and Crystal Palace, reports suggest that both clubs are open to compromise due to strong relations between their boardrooms.
Arsenal would ideally like to offload a player before moving forward with the Eze deal, though the transfer is not entirely dependent on that happening.
One possibility being considered is including Reiss Nelson—who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Fulham—as part of the package.
