Harvey Elliott Nears Liverpool Exit Amid RB Leipzig Interest

Harvey Elliott’s future at Anfield looks increasingly uncertain, with fresh reports from Germany claiming the midfielder has agreed personal terms with RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old, once a regular under Jürgen Klopp, has struggled to secure consistent minutes under new head coach Arne Slot, fueling speculation of a summer move.

Leipzig have identified Elliott as their top target to replace Xavi Simons, who is expected to join Chelsea rather than return to Bayern Munich. According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Bundesliga side are confident Elliott has the creativity and vision to seamlessly step into Simons’ role as their primary playmaker.

Liverpool’s Valuation and Stance
Liverpool are prepared to consider offers but will only sanction a departure if their valuation is met. The Premier League champions are thought to be seeking between £40–50 million, depending on add-ons and payment structure. Having already generated more than £220 million in player sales this summer, Elliott’s potential exit could see the club’s outgoing total surpass £250 million.

Even so, there remains hesitation within the Liverpool hierarchy. Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that while the club “would reluctantly sanction a sale at the right price,” their preference is to keep Elliott as a versatile and reliable squad option.
