Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool are expected to intensify talks today as FSG see it as an ideal opportunity.

Liverpool Step Up Isak Pursuit as Transfer Window Nears Deadline

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool are preparing to intensify talks for Alexander Isak, with FSG identifying what they consider the “perfect opportunity” to land their top target.

The Newcastle striker has been at the center of speculation all month. Earlier in August, Liverpool saw a £110m bid rejected, but with just five days remaining in the transfer window, sporting director Richard Hughes is under pressure to get the deal across the line.

Romano’s Update
Speaking to DAZN Football on Tuesday, Romano underlined Liverpool’s determination:

“Liverpool have waited over a month for a breakthrough. There’s still no green light from Newcastle, but they will keep pushing. More talks are expected tonight or tomorrow. Their focus hasn’t changed – Isak is the player they want.”

On his YouTube channel, Romano added:

“Liverpool see Isak as their big chance in this market. No other clubs are seriously involved right now, so this could be their moment to move.”

Newcastle’s Reluctance
Despite Isak’s desire to leave—hinted at through a pointed social media post—Newcastle remain resistant, especially without a replacement in hand. The Swede has scored 62 goals in 109 games for the club, making him indispensable in Eddie Howe’s squad.

Newcastle’s own transfer moves have complicated matters. Two bids for Wolves forward Jorge Strand Larsen were rejected, leaving them short on alternatives. Until they secure reinforcements, selling Isak remains unlikely.

Final Days, Final Push
Liverpool, however, sense their window of opportunity. With rivals not yet in the mix and time running out, the Reds may be preparing a decisive push to land their long-standing target before the deadline slams shut.
