Bernardo Silva rages at ‘completely crazy’ schedule in explosive interview after revealing news Man City have just received

Bernardo Silva has hit out at the ‘absurd’ schedule after revealing the news Manchester City have just received in an explosive interview.

Bernardo Silva has criticized the “absurd” fixture congestion in an intense interview after disclosing recent news about Manchester City’s schedule.

Currently on international duty with Portugal, Silva played in their 2-1 UEFA Nations League win over Croatia on Thursday, where Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 900th goal of his illustrious career.

Upon his return to Manchester City, Silva will face a packed schedule, with matches in three different competitions lined up for the month.

Manchester City’s busy September includes significant Premier League, Champions League, and Carabao Cup games, featuring opponents like Arsenal and Inter Milan.

City will play against Arsenal on September 22 and face Championship team Watford just two days later in the Carabao Cup, a schedule recently communicated to the club.

Silva has expressed his frustration over the “completely crazy” schedule, stating, “The schedule is completely crazy. We’ve just been told we only have one day off before the English League Cup game. We’ll likely be playing every three days for months. It’s been absolutely absurd.”

Regarding the new Champions League format, the 30-year-old commented, “In the Champions League, if you don’t advance to the round of 16, you still have to play two additional matches.”

“Although squads are larger now, it’s not exactly easy. It has been challenging. I have very little time to spend with my family and friends. The sheer number of games we have to play is absolutely absurd.”

Silva’s concerns about fixture congestion follow his demanding schedule since joining Manchester City.

Since his transfer from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017, he has played over 50 games each season. Last season, he appeared in 49 matches and featured in 55 games during his team’s treble-winning campaign.
