Sky Sports reporter has just dropped a massive Alexander Isak to Liverpool update…

Sky Sports: Liverpool Given Major Boost in Alexander Isak Pursuit

Liverpool’s hopes of landing Alexander Isak have taken a significant step forward, with Sky Sports’ Keith Downie reporting that Newcastle are closing in on a replacement striker.

The Swedish forward has been Liverpool’s top attacking target all summer, yet Newcastle have stood firm in their stance to keep him. That position may now be softening as the Magpies push to wrap up a deal for Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade, while also chasing Brentford’s Yoane Wissa.

Downie revealed on X that Newcastle are preparing for changes up front, noting that the club will not bring in both Woltemade and Jørgen Strand Larsen due to their similar profiles. With Wissa also in the mix, Isak could finally “get his wish” if Liverpool table a second—and potentially record-breaking—bid before the deadline.

Alan Shearer has previously praised the 24-year-old’s intelligence and versatility, highlighting his sharp movement and ability to drop deep to trouble defenders. For Liverpool, his arrival would add another world-class option to an already formidable attack.

If the Reds can also seal a deal for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi in the coming days, it could go down as one of the club’s strongest-ever transfer windows.
