Report: 43-G/A star emerges as top contender to succeed Liverpool fan favourite

Liverpool Eye Michael Olise as Long-Term Successor to Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah’s future has been a constant subject of speculation in recent years, but Liverpool managed to secure their talisman with a new contract. Even so, the club is already looking ahead, preparing for the eventual transition when their Egyptian superstar moves on.

According to journalist Lewis Steele of The Daily Mail, Liverpool are keeping a close watch on Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise, viewing him as a leading candidate to one day succeed Salah.

Olise, who made the switch from Crystal Palace to Bayern, has been nothing short of exceptional in Germany. Last season alone, the French international was directly involved in 43 goals across all competitions, underlining his reputation as one of Europe’s most dynamic young attackers. His blend of creativity, dribbling, and end product has made him a standout in the Bundesliga.

For Liverpool, the 22-year-old ticks many boxes. Not only could he reinvigorate the right flank, but his age and development curve also make him an ideal long-term investment. Sources suggest Bayern Munich are unlikely to sanction a move in January, meaning any serious negotiations would probably wait until the summer.

With Salah now in his 30s, Liverpool’s hierarchy are mindful that succession planning is essential to maintaining their competitive edge. The possibility of bringing Olise back to the Premier League — this time with a club competing for domestic and European honors — is seen as an enticing opportunity.

Whether Liverpool take concrete steps to secure him remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Michael Olise is firmly on their radar as a potential heir to Salah’s throne at Anfield.
