Liverpool have had a hectic summer in the transfer market and are already planning bigger moves for the future, according to sources close to CaughtOffside.
The Reds are determined to keep strengthening their squad with top-quality signings, with Michael Olise and Marc Guehi identified as major targets.
Insiders suggest Liverpool are optimistic about securing Guehi once his Crystal Palace contract expires next summer, despite Palace blocking a deal late in the recent window. The expectation now is that the England defender will leave on a free transfer at the end of his deal.
Liverpool confident over Guehi pursuit
Although Real Madrid and other clubs have been linked with Guehi, Liverpool remain calm about the competition. One source insisted the club are “confident” they hold the advantage, having already reached personal terms with the centre-back earlier this summer. Reports of Madrid’s interest are regarded by Liverpool sources as little more than speculation.
Olise viewed as Salah’s long-term successor
Liverpool are also monitoring Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. The French winger is believed to have a price tag of around £87m, though certain clauses or understandings could allow Premier League clubs to negotiate a lower fee.
Olise is thought to be open to a return to England, and Liverpool see him as the ideal successor to Salah. While Bayern would be reluctant to let him go, their recent acquisition of Luis Diaz gives them strength in depth on the wings.
