Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí continued her dominance by securing the women’s prize for the third consecutive year. Then came the men’s award, where Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele—the pre-event favourite—was crowned winner, beating out Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and PSG teammate Vitinha.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, who had a remarkable 2024/25 campaign with 57 goal contributions, narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth. Despite being tipped as one of the frontrunners, the Egyptian was not in attendance. Representing Liverpool in Paris were captain Virgil van Dijk, goalkeeper Alisson Becker, and manager Arne Slot.
