Italian media has highlighted the risk Barcelona faces in potentially losing a targeted deal for the upcoming summer transfer window. Due to a severe financial crisis, Barcelona aims to recruit players whose contracts are expiring. According to Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich has been actively pursuing a deal with Leverkusen for player Tah. Romano noted that Bayern Munich reached a personal agreement with Tah about three months ago and still plans to sign him for free next summer. While Barcelona maintains a positive relationship with Tah’s agent, Pini Zahavi, it may struggle to match Bayern Munich’s financial offer.
Fabrizio Romano highlighted that Barcelona continues to face issues with exceeding the salary cap, which restricts their ability to fully utilize transfer revenue. Notably, Barcelona attempted to acquire Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah in the previous summer transfer window but chose to delay the deal for a year in hopes of signing him for free once his contract with the German club expires.
