Barcelona is currently evaluating various key opportunities, particularly focusing on free transfers to bolster the squad for the upcoming winter transfer window. The team has made an impressive start to La Liga, winning their first four matches and leading the standings, which has notably impressed opponents and fans alike.
According to Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Barcelona showed interest in Kingsley Coman during the summer transfer window. The club considered signing him to strengthen their left-wing attack, especially after not pursuing Nico Williams. Former Bayern Munich coach Hans Flick recommended Coman to Barcelona president Joan Laporta and director Deco.
However, Coman has lost his place in Bayern Munich’s plans under new coach Vincent Kompany, with competition from Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, and new arrival Michael Olise. Although a loan offer for Coman was on the table, Barcelona could not proceed due to financial constraints.
Coman has turned down offers from Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and some Saudi Arabian clubs, expressing a strong desire to play in La Liga and join Barcelona. He hopes this move will materialize in January.
Hans Flick informed Kingsley Coman that he remains a target for Barcelona, suggesting that the club might pursue him in January if they can offload some players, particularly in the attack, such as Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati. Barcelona believes that Coman, with his extensive experience, would be a valuable addition to the team.
Joan Laporta and Deco also see Coman as a significant enhancement to the squad, but their current priority is to finalize the registration of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen. Once these issues are resolved, Barcelona plans to initiate negotiations with Bayern Munich about Coman.
