Chelsea have dropped their official squad photo for the 24/25 season amid claims they have as many as 40 players
This summer’s transfer window has been quite active for Chelsea, who have signed players such as Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Jadon Sancho, among others.
Reports had suggested that Chelsea might have up to 40 players in their squad due to their extensive signings.
However, these claims were put to rest on Friday when Chelsea unveiled their official squad photo for the 2024/25 season, revealing a total of 29 players.
Fans reacted on social media, with one commenting, “Just 29 players, and they claim we have a large squad.” Another wrote, “They said we have 45 players. Lol.” A third added, “Hahaha, but the media keeps saying we have 40 players… What’s with that?”
So far this season, Chelsea has recorded two wins, one draw, and one loss, placing them eighth in the Premier League with seven points.
Enzo Maresca’s team is five points behind leaders Manchester City and will face West Ham United in their next match this Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Maresca commented, “It has been great, including the last match. I focus on what I can control, including training and games.
“This is a good squad, but we’ve finished 12th and sixth in the last two years. Progress is necessary, and to achieve important goals, we must concentrate on each game.”
He also noted, “Training is the key to improving players, and we work to enhance their skills every day, with some even participating in extra sessions.”
