Legend Leo Messi recommends Hansi Flick to sign this goalkeeper

Barcelona has faced a significant setback with the announcement of goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s serious injury, which will sideline him for the entire season. The club revealed that he requires surgery due to a complete tear in his knee tendon.

Reports from the Daily Mail indicate that Lionel Messi has advised Barcelona’s management, including coach Hansi Flick, to enhance their goalkeeping options. Messi suggested that Barcelona should pursue Emiliano Martinez, the Aston Villa goalkeeper and his teammate on the Argentine national team.

Martinez, a renowned goalkeeper, was named the best at both the 2021 and 2024 Copa America and received the Golden Glove for his performance in the 2022 World Cup.

The newspaper reported that Lionel Messi continues to stay updated on Barcelona’s performance under Hansi Flick and believes Emiliano Martinez would be the ideal choice to guard the goal for the team in the coming years.

It also noted that Barcelona’s management recognizes the need for a goalkeeper with such skills to enhance their chances of winning titles. However, President Laporta is focused on improving the team’s financial situation before pursuing any negotiations with the Aston Villa star.
