Arsenal star told he needs to improve or face being sold after performance vs Bolton

Arsenal fans voiced their frustration with Gabriel Jesus after the team’s 2-1 victory over Bolton in the Carabao Cup, suggesting he might need to be sold if his performance doesn’t improve.

The Gunners established a 2-0 lead by halftime against their League One rivals, with 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri scoring his first professional goal. Declan Rice opened the scoring in the 16th minute, and Nwaneri quickly added a second after the break.

Bolton responded four minutes later when John McAtee assisted Aaron Collins to make it 2-1, but they struggled to keep up. The game was effectively sealed by the 65th minute when Raheem Sterling scored his first goal for Arsenal, followed shortly by Kai Havertz, who converted a rebound to extend the lead to 5-1.

Despite the comfortable win, concerns about Gabriel Jesus’ performance were evident among fans, with one stating, “Gabriel Jesus needs to play much better. This isn’t good enough.”

Another fan noted, “Even with this big win, Gabriel Jesus still hasn’t scored. He doesn’t even seem likely to.”

A third fan stated, “Gabriel Jesus desperately needs a goal for his confidence. He was terrible tonight.”

A fourth asked, “When was the last time Gabriel Jesus scored for Arsenal?”

A fifth suggested, “Arteta should start looking for strikers in January because we can’t keep going like this.”

Jesus last scored for Arsenal on January 30 in a 2-1 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest, which remains his only goal in 2024. Injuries and limited starting opportunities have hindered his performance, with his only start this season being a 0-0 draw against Atalanta, where he was substituted after 58 minutes.
