A report has revealed the timeline for Leny Yoro’s Manchester United return, having suffered an injury in pre-season.
Manchester United secured the signing of Yoro, outpacing Real Madrid in the race. The transfer was valued at £58.9 million. The 18-year-old made his debut for the Red Devils shortly after the deal was finalized.
He started against Rangers and excelled defensively, earning praise from fans on social media.
Yoro then went to the United States for Manchester United’s pre-season tour and started the match against Arsenal. However, he was substituted after just 32 minutes in the first half.
The Frenchman has been spotted using crutches and wearing a protective boot after his injury during Manchester United’s 2-1 loss. This has raised concerns about a potentially long-term absence with the new season only a few weeks away.
However, Neil Custis reports that Yoro will miss only the first three matches of the new Premier League season due to a metatarsal injury.
This means he will be unavailable for matches against Fulham, Brighton, and Liverpool. According to the injury timeline, he is expected to return by September 14 for the game against Southampton.
After Manchester United’s pre-season match against Arsenal, Erik ten Hag expressed his disappointment about the defender’s injury. “It is too soon to say. We need to wait over 24 hours and hopefully have more information then,” he said.
“We were very cautious with Leny, as he only participated at 50 percent in the sessions. It’s disappointing that he had to come off, but let’s stay positive and see what the outcome will be.”
Ten Hag’s team will continue their pre-season tomorrow with a match against La Liga side Real Betis in San Diego, California.
