It’s uncertain if Arne Slot’s team will attempt to pursue Zubimendi again soon. Additionally, Liverpool is interested in signing Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze in January.

The talented midfielder, described as “outstanding” by chairman Steve Parish, is expected to come at a hefty price, with offers in the £50-60 million range likely needed to convince the Eagles to let him go.

Eze would provide competition for Dominik Szoboszlai, especially given some criticism of Szoboszlai’s contributions in the final third. So far in the 2024/25 season, both players have similar stats, with Eze recording three goals and an assist. However, this is a decline compared to last season, when he scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 27 Premier League matches.

Statistically, Eze ranks in the 90th percentile for non-penalty expected goals, whereas Szoboszlai falls in the 50th percentile. If Liverpool seeks a dynamic attacking midfielder to push Szoboszlai, Eze would be an excellent option.
