Capello Issues a Warning to Mbappé Over His Performance with Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello delivered a stern warning to Kylian Mbappé regarding his underwhelming performances since joining the club this summer. The 25-year-old forward transferred from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2024.

In comments reported by “Mundo Deportivo,” Capello emphasized that when a star player like Mbappé arrives at Real Madrid, he must be prepared to work hard, just like everyone else, as the club is filled with talent. He cautioned Mbappé to consider the implications of his move, particularly given the presence of Vinícius Júnior, the current standout player, which could impact Mbappé’s comfort level compared to his time in Paris.

Capello noted that Mbappé may struggle to shine while playing alongside Vinícius, as the Brazilian’s unique skills and abilities set a high bar.

The Spanish newspaper “Marca” reported that Kylian Mbappé is unhappy with Capello’s comments and is confident in his ability to adapt to Real Madrid and become the best player in the world soon.

In response, Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti reached out to Capello, suggesting he soften his criticism of the French star, noting that Mbappé has still delivered impressive performances this season, even while adjusting to the team.

Mbappé has played in 11 matches for Los Blancos this season, scoring 7 goals and providing 1 assist. The team is set to face Celta Vigo next Saturday in the tenth round of the Spanish League, following the international break.
