Chelsea is expected to be presented with a world-class player in a major swap deal this summer.
The transfer window has been active for Chelsea, with new arrivals including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu, and Tosin Adarabioyo. Despite these additions, reports suggest Chelsea is negotiating a swap deal that might bring a significant player to Stamford Bridge.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared on social media: “Napoli continues to seek options for Victor Osimhen as they aim to secure Romelu Lukaku’s arrival soon.”
Napoli might also consider including Victor Osimhen in discussions with Chelsea regarding Romelu Lukaku. Although Osimhen had agreed to join PSG, the deal between the clubs is currently on hold. The Athletic’s David Ornstein has confirmed these negotiations, revealing that Osimhen would join Chelsea on a season-long loan, while Lukaku would move to Napoli on a permanent basis.
Chelsea would have the option to sign Osimhen permanently at the end of the loan if he proves to be a valuable addition. Chelsea, along with Manchester United and Arsenal, have long been interested in the Nigerian striker.
Enzo Maresca has had a challenging start as Chelsea manager, drawing 2-2 with Wrexham and then losing 4-1 to Celtic last week.
Following the loss to Brendan Rodgers’ side, Maresca remarked: “We are experimenting with many things and haven’t had the chance to try everything yet, as we only started 15 to 20 days ago. After just five minutes, we had two or three scoring opportunities, and until their third goal, our team performed well, continuing to create chances.”
He added: “We didn’t concede a shot in the second half until the 75th minute, but after that third goal, it became more challenging. It’s crucial for me to recognize the gap in physical conditioning. They have played four pre-season games and are starting their official season soon, whereas we are still adjusting physically.”
