The newspaper ‘Sport’ and Fabrizio Romano have provided differing accounts of Barcelona’s offers to Leipzig for Dani Olmo. According to ‘Sport,’ Barcelona’s bid is around 50 million euros with an extra 15 million in performance-based incentives, though Leipzig is expected to reject it as they are seeking 55 million euros guaranteed. On the other hand, Romano reports that the offer includes the 55 million euros plus an additional 3 to 4 million euros in bonuses.
Thursday saw intense negotiations between Barcelona and Leipzig over Dani Olmo. ‘Mundo Deportivo’ reported that a deal was nearly complete with a 47 million euro fixed fee plus 3 million and 10 million in add-ons. However, ‘Sport’ suggests this offer will likely be rejected. Romano details a different proposal that may satisfy Leipzig’s demands.
According to Toni Juanmarti from ‘Mundo Deportivo,’ Leipzig is expected to reject the terms offered by Joan Laporta’s board since they are seeking a guaranteed 55 million euros. Romano confirms Barcelona has proposed 55 million euros plus 4 million in straightforward add-ons and 3 million in performance-based incentives.
Romano also notes that Olmo has agreed to terms with Barcelona to sign until June 30, 2030, and is enthusiastic about joining Hansi Flick’s team. With his previous training at La Masia and Espanyol, he is already familiar with the city.
‘Sport’ highlights that the primary issue with Barcelona’s offer is not just the amount falling short of 55 million euros but also the proposed delayed payment over approximately a year.
Romano also notes that Olmo has a verbal agreement to join Barcelona until June 30, 2030, and is keen to play for Hansi Flick’s team. His previous experience at La Masia and Espanyol makes him well-acquainted with the city.
‘Sport’ points out that the main problem with Barcelona’s offer is not only that it falls short of 55 million euros but also that the payment is proposed to be deferred for around a year.
