In an unexpected development, Athletic Bilbao shared a video on their official X account showing Nico Williams printing his team’s shirt with the number 10. The clip, which stirred up Barcelona fans, featured Williams expressing his desire to become a legend at Bilbao and to follow in the footsteps of Basque player Iker Muniain.
The La Roja star had previously worn the number 11 for the Basque Country club before requesting Iker Muniainâs number 10, which Muniain agreed to relinquish. Consequently, Laporta will need to move on from that deal and explore other options for strengthening Barcelona’s squad this summer.
