Nico Williams prov.okes Laporta with this situation and decides his fate of moving to Barcelona this summer

This morning, some press sources expressed significant surprise that the transfer of Spanish international Nico Williams, the standout player from Athletic Club Bilbao, to Barcelona did not go through this summer. Barcelona is looking to bolster its squad with major signings to restore balance, particularly following the challenging season they endured last year.

In an unexpected development, Athletic Bilbao shared a video on their official X account showing Nico Williams printing his team’s shirt with the number 10. The clip, which stirred up Barcelona fans, featured Williams expressing his desire to become a legend at Bilbao and to follow in the footsteps of Basque player Iker Muniain.

The La Roja star had previously worn the number 11 for the Basque Country club before requesting Iker Muniain’s number 10, which Muniain agreed to relinquish. Consequently, Laporta will need to move on from that deal and explore other options for strengthening Barcelona’s squad this summer.

Barcelona had considered Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig and is aiming to bolster the team with new signings, including JoĂŁo Cancelo and Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich.
