FC Barcelona Rejects $270 Million Bid For Thier Star Boy Lamine Yamal from Premier league Club

Before the current European Championship, FC Barcelona rejected a $270 million (€250 million) offer, which would have set a new record for transfer fees, according to Spanish news agency EFE citing unnamed sources within the Catalan club.

Lamine’s spectacular goal for Spain against France in the semifinals has made him a standout figure across Europe.

Kolo Muani’s header put France ahead in the eighth minute, but Spain’s MVP Lamine equalized in the 21st minute, and Dani Olmo scored to give Spain a 2-1 lead, which they held onto until the match ended.

Since Neymar’s departure from FC Barcelona in 2017, the 16-year-old Lamine is under contract with a release clause set at $1.082 billion (€1 billion).

At that time, Barcelona felt confident that the Brazilian was secure in his position, and any team interested in him would need to pay €222 million ($240 million) to release him from his Camp Nou contract.

However, Paris Saint-Germain challenged this valuation by paying the hefty sum to secure Neymar, setting a new world transfer record and reshaping the market permanently.

In 2024, the Qatar-backed Ligue 1 club has shown its readiness to make similar financial commitments to sign Lamine, whom they see as the perfect replacement for Mbappe, who is moving to Real Madrid.
