Eddie Howe refuses to rule out late exit of attacker, encouraging sign for Liverpool

The transfer window closes in five days, but significant activity could still occur before then.

Teams are actively seeking to bolster their squads, and major deals might materialize in the final moments of the window.

One player who has been frequently mentioned in transfer rumors is Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United. Although there has been speculation about a potential move to Liverpool, there are no ongoing discussions between the clubs at this time, despite the interest.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has not ruled out the possibility of a late departure for his players. Howe acknowledged the unpredictability of football and admitted he cannot foresee future events.

He commented, as reported by the Express:

“I’ve been in the game long enough to avoid making such predictions. From both my perspective and the club’s, we will do everything possible to retain our top players. However, as managers, we have to accept the uncertainty. It’s challenging, and there’s a lot happening.”

Howe’s remarks are likely to concern some Newcastle United fans, who have witnessed minimal transfer activity this summer.

The Magpies have been relatively inactive in the transfer market, although they have strengthened their defense and goalkeeping positions.

Newcastle United cannot afford to lose Gordon to Liverpool.

They have had four bids for Crystal Palace center-back Marc Guehi rejected but remain intent on signing the England international.

Fans will be hoping that none of their star players are sold in the final week of the transfer window.

Amid financial uncertainty, retaining their key players has been vital, and Newcastle has managed to do so thus far.
