Trent Alexander-Arnold is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool.
Fans are increasingly concerned because the 25-year-old will be able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside England starting early next year.
Real Madrid, which is assembling one of the strongest teams in global football, has shown interest in Alexander-Arnold. He is reportedly close friends with Jude Bellingham, and there’s speculation about a possible free transfer to Santiago Bernabéu.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, securing a new contract for Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool won’t be easy. Romano mentioned that Liverpool plans to initiate contract discussions with Alexander-Arnold, saying, “They will have their chance to keep Trent at the club and extend his contract. Let’s see how talks will go,” in his Daily Briefing with CaughtOffside.
Romano also clarified that Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold has not progressed, stating, “I mentioned Real Madrid’s interest in March, but there’s nothing new or concrete to add at the moment.”
With Liverpool reportedly preparing to negotiate new terms with Alexander-Arnold, there is hope that the six-time European champions could secure a new deal.
Given that Alexander-Arnold has spent his entire career at Liverpool and continues to play a crucial role under new manager Arne Slot, it seems unlikely he would leave and jeopardize his legacy at such a prominent club.
