Fan cruelly denied £1 million jackpot after Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Brentford

A fan was cruelly denied a life-changing jackpot of £1 million after Liverpool beat Brentford 2-0.

A participant in Sky Bet’s ‘Super 6’ series seemed to be on the verge of winning after correctly predicting the outcomes of five Premier League matches over the weekend.

Morris from Wolverhampton nailed his predictions for Manchester City 4-1 Ipswich Town, Spurs 4-0 Everton, Crystal Palace 0-2 West Ham, Aston Villa 0-2 Arsenal, and Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle, with a crucial VAR decision preventing the hosts from scoring what appeared to be a decisive goal.

In the final match of the weekend at Anfield, Morris needed Liverpool to win by three goals without conceding to claim a one million pound prize.

Things started promisingly when Luis Diaz scored in the 13th minute after a pass from Diogo Jota. Liverpool dominated with 19 shots but missed several chances.

Mo Salah added a second goal in the 70th minute with a precise finish, but Brentford’s goalkeeper, Mark Flekken, made several excellent saves to keep the scoreline close.

Unfortunately for Morris, he fell just one goal short of winning a million pounds.

Sky Bet did offer a payout of £6,000 to the 27-year-old, who also accurately predicted the golden goal time.

Despite this consolation, Morris experienced significant disappointment after coming so close to a massive win.

Fans sympathizing with his near-miss urged Sky to increase the payout.

One remarked, “He deserves at least £100,000 for that.”

Another suggested, “They could at least double it for him.”

A third comment read, “He deserves more—loosen the purse strings.”

A fourth simply said, “That’s a real disappointment.”

A final user added, “It’s really tough luck.”
