Lewandowski told Flick he doesn’t want to see him at Barcelona again

Barcelona secured a crucial 1-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano, impressing particularly in the second half and marking their third consecutive win. Hans Flick aims to guide Barcelona back to winning titles. However, Robert Lewandowski has informed Flick that he does not wish to see him at Barcelona again.

Barcelona secured a crucial 1-2 win against Rayo Vallecano, leaving a positive impression, especially in the second half, and marking their third consecutive victory. Hans Flick aims to guide Barcelona back to title-winning form following a challenging season in which the team ended up empty-handed.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, the substitution of Dani Olmo for Ferran Torres in the match against Rayo Vallecano was crucial to Barcelona’s victory. The report notes that Barcelona’s performance was notably different with Ferran Torres on the field compared to when he was off, as Ferran had started for the third consecutive match, a move many viewed as Hans Flick’s final attempt to boost his confidence.

The experiment with Ferran Torres did not go well, as he had a poor first half with inaccurate passes and minimal impact both defensively and offensively. Flick responded by substituting Ferran with Dani Olmo before halftime. Olmo’s presence immediately improved Barcelona’s fluidity and depth, allowing Lewandowski to feel more at ease in his striker role.

The newspaper added that Lewandowski values his understanding with players like Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, and Rafinha, who offer quality and vision—attributes that Ferran Torres has not provided since joining Barcelona.

Lewandowski has made it clear that Ferran Torres is not a suitable attacking partner for a striker of his caliber, who is accustomed to playing with top-quality teammates. For Barcelona to maximize their top scorer’s effectiveness, they need to surround him with players who are in sync on the pitch, which suggests that Ferran should remain on the bench.

Lewandowski’s stance is evident, and Flick must heed this as the season progresses. Barcelona cannot afford to weaken their attack with ineffective experiments. The numbers show significant improvement with Dani Olmo, Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha—players who understand Lewandowski’s needs and enhance his game. In contrast, Ferran’s presence makes the attack predictable and less dynamic.
