Mo Salah recently hinted this season could be his last at Liverpool.
The Egyptian forward has once again started the season in outstanding form. He tormented Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend, assisting Luis Diaz twice and scoring Liverpool’s third goal himself. Despite being in his thirties, Salah shows no signs of slowing down.
However, the 32-year-old is set to be out of contract at the end of the season. In his post-match interview on Sunday, he reminded Liverpool of his potential to leave for free next year. “As I was heading to the game, I thought, ‘This could be the last time’,” the forward told Sky Sports.
Liverpool is preparing to initiate contract talks with Mo Salah, despite ongoing speculation linking him with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, according to Football Insider. The club aims to address rumors about the 32-year-old’s potential departure and secure his future at Anfield.
Salah, Liverpool’s highest earner at £350,000 per week (Spotrac), is currently the team’s second oldest player after Virgil Van Dijk (33). Talks are expected to commence within the coming weeks to resolve the uncertainty surrounding his contract.
