Arne Slot refused to talk about a player while defending one of his Liverpool stars in a press conference.
Liverpool will face Bournemouth on Saturday, looking to recover from last weekend’s surprising 1-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest. However, they recently secured a 3-1 victory against AC Milan at the San Siro, giving a positive start to their Champions League campaign.
Concerns have been raised about the limited squad rotation in the early part of the season, a situation that manager Arne Slot acknowledges will need to change as their schedule intensifies. In his pre-match press conference, he addressed questions about rotation by referencing Martin Zubimendi, whom Liverpool tried to sign during the summer.
Zubimendi opted to remain at Real Sociedad, prompting Slot to emphasize that there’s no point in discussing him further, as he expressed satisfaction with Ryan Gravenberch’s performance. Gravenberch has been playing as a deeper midfielder in a three-man setup, a shift from his more advanced role last season under Jürgen Klopp.
Every day on the training pitch, he focuses on receiving passes through the lines, and during matches, he successfully receives those balls as well.
