Real Madrid, led by Florentino Perez, is in fierce competition with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Arsenal’s standout player during the summer transfer window of 2025. The club aims to enhance its squad with top global talent to maintain its dominance in European and international competitions.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, both clubs are vying for French defender William Saliba, who has been outstanding for Arsenal, helping them compete for the Premier League title until the final matchday. However, PSG may find it challenging to secure Saliba, as he is under contract with Arsenal until 2027, and with Real Madrid also in the mix, the situation becomes even more complex.
The newspaper reported that Perez is considering including French player Aurelien Tchouameni in the deal to entice Arsenal to sell Saliba, significantly boosting Real Madrid’s chances of completing the transfer. Additionally, Arsenal’s Spanish coach Mikel Arteta is a strong admirer of Tchouameni and views him as the ideal addition to strengthen the midfield, which could facilitate Real Madrid’s efforts to acquire defender Saliba.
